July: Courage

Courage...we reinforced this virtue in July. Courage can be shown in trying something new, meeting new friends, doing something all by yourself, telling the truth, or any number of things which require a bit of confidence in yourself. As we sat around the dinner table one night talking about courage, Neeley decided that the reason her daddy is courageous is because he's a pastor! I guess she's right. We admire JR/Daddy and know that it has taken a great deal of strength and perserverance to do what he does. It was funny when Neeley was asked, "Why is Mommy courageous?" To which JR responded, "She's a MOM!" True that. Neeley was a brave girl this month pulling her won top front tooth out. She had been very scared to pull it out for a couple of weeks until it was just barely hanging on. She also learned how to boogie board in the BIG BIG ocean at Long Beach her in NY. She was so excited. Judson is learning lots of new tasks and keeping up with them on a special sticker chart. We celebrated his accomplishments and Neeley's with the "Courage Cake!"
