FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Jud and Neeley started school Tuesday 9/2. Jud's first day was pretty lousy due to some circumstances out of his control, but he really maintained a good attitude. We were proud of him. It was not his fault that we waited an hour and a half for the bus...nor his fault that the NEW school did not have record of him at all...nor his fault that he got car sick TWICE on the way to his first day of kindergarten at a new school...nor his fault that he had to sit in the office with a stranger monitoring him while he peed his pants waiting for me!!! The board of ed did not send the school his paperwork on time...they only sent it all to ME. ...and he suffered for it...poor guy. By the time I got there that morning via CAB and filled out his papers and changed his clothes, it was lunch and recess (his FAVORITE part of the day). It was a good time for him to be introduced to school since he had already had quite a rough morning. Who would WANT to go back to school after that morning?! Lunch and Recess SAVED the DAY!!! He got OFF the bus happy after his first day of school.

Neeley did great, as usual. She loves her teacher, who she says is nice but firm. Neeley is BIG on fairness and gets distressed when someone is not disciplined for wrong doing (unless it is HER, of course). I think she is going to love 4th grade. They are treated with lots of respect for being one of the older grades. They also have more responsibilities...which I don’t think she’s realized yet! :)

Here you'll see pics of the kids before school. It was not cold outside but judson wanted his fleece...hmmm. Wasn't going to fight him on that one. No harm in having it. You'll notice how happy and silly he was before school...then him laying on his back pack WAITING for the school bus (it got kinda boring after he pulled all the leaves off of a plant by our front door downstairs). Then, you'll see Jud getting off the bus with different clothes on...since he had puked on himself on the way TO school. Phew...what a day. Neeley remained calm and was very happy to go to school and see her friends. Her best friend, Jordan, is in her class this year!
